Wildlife & Birds are constant visitors

View from the top of the hill

Here are some of natures many enjoyments you will experience when visiting the hillside gardens.  Area's are always under minor construction.  Always creating , cleaning, weeding and planting.  The garden is far from perfection, but oh, so country!

Added Hillside Bonus ~ for your enjoyment

From this viewpoint you will be able to see two prairie provinces of Saskatchewan and Alberta, divided by highway 17 N.

Dazzling farm fields of canola, wheat, barley peppered with the many oil sites across the fields.  These are both vibrant industries in this busy and growing part of Canada.  The bustling city of Lloydminster is straight south and while lounging in the evening, You will see the Husky Oil Upgrader as it  lights up the skies.

An array of Birds & wildlife visit the gardens, along with the bees, butterflies and yes the not so welcome wonders, pesky mosquitoes!  Days and nights can be enjoyed while taking the necessary precautions of repellants and/or protective clothing.

Someone asked, how many types of lilies are on the garden?  The honest answer, is 'I don't know'!  I love lilies, yes they have a short show off season, but brilliant!  Usually they begin to bloom about the last week in July into the third week of August or so, sometimes earlier, and sometimes later, depending on the type of season they are experiencing.  Many other flowers join in until freeze up in the fall, along with the flowers  there are many berries on the hillside, ......Saskatoon's, cranberries, red currents, chokecherries, pin cherry's , nan-king cherry's ..........

The gardeners have placed an abundance of birdfeeders and birdhouses throughout the various walkways on the garden areas, making for a very active flittering here and there, and of course the music of the many residents.
